Haitian Heroes 3-Coin Collection — Dessalines, Toussaint & Catherine Flon
Haitian Heroes 3-Coin Collection
THREE HEROES. ONE STORY. COMPLETE.
Haiti’s independence wasn’t won by one person. This collection brings together the strategist who built the army, the commander who finished the war, and the seamstress who gave them a flag to march behind.
TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE — Architect of Liberty
The former slave who turned an uprising into an army disciplined enough to beat European powers. He was arrested by French forces in 1802 and died in a French prison, months before the victory he made possible.
JEAN-JACQUES DESSALINES — Father of Liberty
Born enslaved in 1758. Commanded the indigenous army to victory at Vertières on 18 November 1803, and stood at Gonaïves on 1 January 1804 to declare Haiti free — the first Black sovereign state in the Americas.
CATHERINE FLON — Seamstress of Liberty
At the Congress of Arcahaie on 18 May 1803, she stitched the blue and red of a nation that did not yet exist. She is the reason Haitian Flag Day is 18 May, and Haiti put her on the 10-gourde note in 2000.
Two generals and a needle. The army was built by one, led by another, and given its colours by a woman with thread in her hands.
Displayed on a desk or a shelf, three coins say something one coin can’t. And when someone picks one up and asks who that is, you have the whole story to give them.
Save $10 on the complete collection — $65 for all three, versus $75 purchased separately.

Diameter, thickness, weight, metal, finish, edge, reverse design, and packaging to be added.
Care: Handle by the edges and keep dry. Do not polish — the antiqued finish sits in the recessed detail, and polishing strips it out and flattens the design. A soft dry cloth is all it needs.
Honor the Past. Carry the Legacy.
